Keith Anderson • 1 year ago

kyoshiromibu • 1 year ago

MeguminExplosion • 1 year ago

I love mechs and the goddess in my party low key trying to build a milk carton mech.

Jack • 1 year ago

I would be lying if I said I understood anything from start to finish about their meeting, but in the end what's gonna happen is Lavi's first mission is to get the mech basically lol.

I knew blue haired wanted war, its written in his face quite literally with tha mark on his eyes lol. 3 ep rule still ongoing for this one.

Ohms Nuttachai • 1 year ago

I think this show can only appeal to the fans of the game, TBH. I would have been lost also if I'd never played the game. I won't be surprised if many people dropping this show.

Jack • 1 year ago

Sad but true, I'll stay as long as I can even without basic knowledge of the game/story

majaketrix • 1 year ago

here are the basics...

there are two super power country in the game. the erebonian empire and the calvard republic. around the empire, there are 6 countries. namely Jurai, North Ambria, Remiferia (the birthplace of technology), Nord(a bunch of nomads), Crossbell and Liberl (they have a peace agreement)...

now at the end of Trails of Azure. the empire has successfully invaded crossbell (the beginning of the episode) and crossbell is the buffer state between the empire and the republic (kinda like NATO<ukraine>Russia). it signals that the empire is now ready to face the republic. but before doing that, they need to secure their backs first.. which are the Jurai and North Ambria.

which leads to this anime.

spoiler alert. Jurai surrendered without fighting. =) but i think it wont be feature in this anime.

Düölingöhhh Snorlax • 1 year ago

Öhhh… This is game based? :<

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

Yes T_T I knew from live chart since I saw synapses and what's it's base off of.

Archie Andrew's 1000 • 1 year ago

Whelp I be dropping soon since this's pretty meh for me and I didn't play the game out all so I'm out of luck :(

FBIagentSenpai • 1 year ago

you can still enjoy the anime and then play the game just like a lot of people enjoy the anime of castlevania and after that they played the game

Ohms Nuttachai • 1 year ago

The main different is Castlevania anime covers all the background story and lore of the world while this anime assumes that the viewer already knew about that. Like I said, it would be hard to follow for anyone who doesn't know the game before.

FBIagentSenpai • 1 year ago

but you can still enjoy the anime, and play the games later, if you have a PS4 then you can buy and download the 4 games from the play station store, I highly recommended it, the game is amazing, you won't regret it

Whimsy Walker • 7 months ago

but not everyone is a gamer...

STAX • 1 year ago

It's just political Posturing before coming to a decision. Pretty Standard for higher-ups.

go1 • 1 year ago

If we get hooked we can keep watching, simple as it is.

FBIagentSenpai • 1 year ago

it's not like "the blue haired wanted war" literally they had no choice, the empire is going to attack them anyways, and they used Rean in order to do that, and probably that's the only thing I regret from the game, they don't give you the option to join the bracer guild, after the events of Cold of Steel II but instead Rean became a puppet of chancellor Osborne and his schemes, I think the storyline would have gone better if Rean as a member of the guild

majaketrix • 1 year ago

he cant.. he was drafted into service by the highest authority in the country.. kinda like the prime minister hand picking a soldier. you could face treason if you refuse. if he didnt have valimar, maybe he can.. but a weapon of that power, the government wouldnt simply just let him be free.

FBIagentSenpai • 1 year ago

in this case he can, since the highest authority is the imperial family and not chancellor osborne, so since Rean saved their lives during the civil war, they technically owned him so yeah after the graduation Rean could ask them to let him join the guild and if they need him or there something going on like when Rean rescued them during the civil war they can always call him, so there you have it the option to join the Bracer guild was always there

majaketrix • 1 year ago

the royal family are more like a state figure.. what they can do is appoint a prime minister, and the prime minister is the one who usually runs the country. in this case, chancellor osborn.

FBIagentSenpai • 1 year ago

osborne runs the country but he doesn't control it, he still needs the consent of the emperor, so yeah Rean save the imperial family so the least they could do is let him join the Bracers guild I'm sure things would be different if that happened, but too bad the game never gave that option

Vin • 1 year ago

isn't the emperor know who's Osborne really are and what he's trying to do? which is probably the reason he's letting Osborne do whatever he wants

FBIagentSenpai • 1 year ago

Later in the game of cold steel III he reveals he regrets giving osborne too much power and when he was finally trying to do something about it he got shot by ash, the reason why he did it is because he and osborne became friends, he really trusted him, but Osoborne took advantage of that friendship, so yeah too much power eventually leads to corruption and that's what happened with Osborne

Vin • 1 year ago

everything he does that led to CS IV was intentional, not from a corruption of power, because it's the only way to set Ishmelga up without it getting suspicious since Osborne was never controlled by the curse, his end goal was always to get rid of the curse.
I assume the emperor knows about what Osborne doing because he had access to the black record

FBIagentSenpai • 1 year ago

yeah but remember everything what's happening in the game was because of Osborne like invading other countries, manipulating, backstabbing people like when he "recruited" captain Claire when she was a high school girl and she was still mourning the death of her family, the curse is one thing and Osborn actions is another thing

Vin • 1 year ago

yes? that's the point tho? he was under the watch of the curse, and the curse purpose was to sow chaos and malice in order to become a god-like being, the invasion and pretty much other atrocities that Osborne did was in line with the curse purpose.
If Osborne really corrupted with power, then he would never try to destroy the curse at the end as it would be a contradiction, and not only that Arianrhod would likely to be on Rean side from the start rather than Osborne if that was really the case.

go1 • 1 year ago

So its different from real life banderists versus vodka lovers(russians).
Cause murica have interest to keep exhausting stuff in that war to gain cash from providing weapons and other stuff like public relations improvement by saying "we make banderists die,we are good".
And russia is not willing to launch a nuke cause the banderists troop strength is not high enough and they're spreaded and not clumped together.
The only idiot in that area are polish government cause their IQ sends back:"error - cannot calculate negative numbers". EVERYONE in poland with at least 1 braincell left hates polish government

Hikkigaya_kun • 1 year ago

Is there any romance?

Jack • 1 year ago

Not yet, but for sure will be

Jaya Sena • 1 year ago

In game there are but optional- but in this show not really sure.

Wanderer • 1 year ago

Sad to say this story is in-between trails of steel 2 and 3 so if you haven't played the game a lot of things will be mystery and levi and newcomers going to learn a load of new information if you never played a trails game

Keith Anderson • 1 year ago

best part of the episode we saw altina lol

Fayt Leingod • 1 year ago

one of the reason i play these game :3
but lavi-chan is also a cute shortie :3

majaketrix • 1 year ago

the emotionless altina haha... needs more growing up to do and some sisterly love..

Ohms Nuttachai • 1 year ago

I can't say I am a fan of animation. Those CGIs looked stiff and weightless. Looked at how that tower fell from some rifle shots. That doesn't feel right at all.

This kind of animation is fine in the game but I never expected it would be carried over here.

majaketrix • 1 year ago

yeah.. i even thought the game animation is better...

Its Gonna Be Okay • 1 year ago

Thats the problem with mecha animes nowadays, Studios dont want to anime them in 2D like code geass or evangelion

Düölingöhhh Snorlax • 1 year ago

Not that they don‘t want… It‘s that they don‘t have the time & budget :/

tc • 1 year ago

The reason they don't do 2D is cause they have to draw lot of frames for smooth animation which is a lot of labor and cost more. If they don't then for a mecha anime that is heavy in movement will look extremely choppy, Its also difficult and a burden for animators. CGI saves time and burden, but only if done right.

Vali • 1 year ago

I do think if done right, 3D looks better for mecha. Despite how you think of the story for Knights of Sidonia, I think that’s one of the few animes that does 3D mecha right. You can see and feel the heavy weight and impact of the mecha

Düölingöhhh Snorlax • 1 year ago

23:20 ohhh a phalllyyyccc robot :O
